About
Klynton Kelly-Bolt
Psychologist
Hello, my name is Klynton and I am here with Willy-Wag-Tail (Willow). She's part of the team (when she is invited).
Firstly, I want to thank you for taking the time to read about who I am and what I love to do. I appreciate those who carefully select who they work alongside because, like you, I value thorough processes of quality assurance, especially when choosing the right person to work with.
My hope is that as you continue reading, you will discover that I am a qualified, experienced and, authentic professional. I love working with people individually and in teams. I believe in the power of good quality relationships that are built on the firm foundations of trust, honesty, accountability, kindness and tact. So on that note, allow me to reassure you again, that I firmly believe in ensuring you get the right fit - otherwise your psych experience will be like eating a really bad kebab!
More About
The past 23 years have enabled me to immerse myself in many diverse experiences working with children, adolescents and adults across the fields of primary, secondary and tertiary education, leadership, counselling and psychology including government and private industries. I have worked in several places throughout Queensland from Normanton to Nerang and as far out as Quilpie and Mount Isa. My passion is connecting with people and organisations to collaboratively develop and implement tailored plans for growth, personally and professionally.
While I love working one on one or in groups with people, I do have a passion for working with organisations. I take pride in helping businesses ensure their workplaces are places where their employees like going everyday - imagine the growth, dedication and productivity you can achieve when your employees love where they work! More recently, I have worked with several construction and transportation organisations facilitating their promotion of mental health and safety throughout their systems. The specifically tailored processes I use aims to avoid workplace delinquency, counterproductive work behaviours, passive/aggressive behaviours, emotional contagion, boundary violations and (my favourite), ethical misconduct.
Another favourite group of people I love is working with sporting clubs - the players, spectators, coaches, parents, managers and volunteers are the heart of the club! Keeping them beating well is key!
Your employees and your players are your future - invest in them!
I believe in and promote learning how to build and maintain organic, sustainable and strategic relationships that shape the wealth in our lives. I value the use of humor, trust and compassion when working with people from all walks of life. I really love what I do and you will feel that in the work you do with me.
If you feel you may resonate with any of this, please read on and I trust that you will make the right decision in either closing this webpage or dropping me an email. I look forward to meeting you and growing with you!
WHY WOULD YOU CONSIDER PSYCHOLOGY?
After 23 years as a teacher, school leader and university tutor, I decided to take a break from education and explore the impact that psychology had on our education sectors core element - their people! I decided to jump in the deep end completing a bachelor of behavioural science (with first class honours) and a diploma of counselling rather than a masters degree.
I wanted to understand the basic psychological theories, principals, elements, strategies and techniques that explained how and why people in schools (students, teachers, leaders and parents for example) develop, learn, behave and improve the ways they do. I pursued this path because I felt I was missing something that I needed to better understand myself, the people and the system I loved.
Ironically, psychology is a service most people and businesses avoid...until the last straw is about to bend. Psychology, when carefully blended with your core business, can be profoundly dynamic because it encourages us to address some of the hardest and most avoided concepts in life...how we (including me) perceive, think, feel and behave individually and in groups and then... what we need to learn, consider, understand and change - or at least try.
I undertook some psychology sessions myself and realised that it takes courage to address our issues and to seek professional help - which is completely normal...especially when I got my biggest and most challenging promotion - when I became a parent!
My aim in my work now is to create a safe and nurturing experience for you, your business, your child, your players and your staff. Ethical and respectful curiosity, communication and collaboration brings the results you want.
Fresh Air Psychology & Consulting is the place for you to see, understand and accept your real self and be able to proudly grow into the best professional, parent or person you want to be.
